Raivis Leimanis is Associate Partner in BDO Law and a sworn attorney with 20 years of experience in legal field. Raivis' day-to-day responsibilities include strategic management of the legal department, team capacity development, client project management, budget management, customer relations, cooperation in projects with other departments.

Raivis has significant experience in the banking and finance industry, commercial law, litigation, and non-governmental organizations. Before joining the BDO Law team, Raivis practised for 5 years at Ellex, the leading law firm in the Baltics, where he worked in the Banking and Finance Practice Group, as well as in dispute resolution, but before that he practiced at pan-Baltic law firm Glimstedt and partners in various legal areas for 11 years. Before his attorney’s career, he worked in the legal department of a leading Scandinavian commercial bank, where he serviced corporate financing projects, including complex cross-border financing operations and syndicated loans and participated in the development of new financing products.

In his lawyer's practice Raivis has advised and represented international and local clients on a variety of issues, including corporate and commercial law, mergers and acquisitions, business insolvency and restructuring cases, construction and real estate projects, administrative, civil, commercial and tax proceedings. Raivis has a unique experience in specific areas of law (sports law, apartments law, state aid, patent litigation, construction-related damage cases, issuing of government securities, etc.). Raivis has represented the interests of the State of Latvia in important cases and formed the case law (including The Ministry of Transport in connection with the restructuring of airBaltic's liabilities and the provision of state aid, Ministry of Finance in a complex dispute with former shareholders of Parex bank, large shopping centers in constitutional proceedings with the State of Latvia).

Raivis has attended more than 100 professional training courses (seminars, conferences, etc.), as well as prepared publications in the section dedicated to Latvia in Law Business Research, The European Mergers & Acquisitions Review, 2007. He is legal expert and author of more than 50 publications in financial and on the legal portal www.ifinanses.lv.
