
Janis Zalais is an attorney at law at BDO Law with extensive experience in litigation involving complex civil, administrative, and criminal law matters within the business environment. He has over fifteen years of professional experience providing legal advice and representing clients in high-complexity cases.
Before joining the BDO Law team, Janis served as a judicial assistant at the Riga City Latgale District Court. He then spent more than ten years practising at one of the first law firms in Latvia — “Bišers & Partneri”, and later gained valuable experience at the law firm “Spilbridge”.
Janis specialises in commercial law, litigation, real estate transactions, insolvency, and “white-collar” criminal cases. He also regularly provides legal assistance in matters related to anti-money laundering (AML) and sanctions compliance.
