Jānis Grasis

Executive summary

Dr. Jānis Grasis is a Professor at the Faculty of Law of Rīga Stradiņš University and a leading researcher with more than twenty years of experience in academia and legal science. His expertise covers international public and private law, international tax law, as well as European Union law and integration.

From 2021 to 2024, Dr. Grasis served as Dean of the RSU Faculty of Law, having previously held the position of Vice-Dean for many years. Alongside his academic career, he has been actively involved in research and international projects, as well as providing consultancy in matters of international law.

He is the author and co-author of several monographs and numerous scientific publications, with his work appearing in Latvia and internationally recognized journals. His research interests include hybrid warfare, international law, tax law, and legal education. Dr. Grasis is also a regular speaker at international conferences and a visiting lecturer at foreign universities.

Dr. Grasis is an Expert of the Latvian Council of Science, a member of the European Society of International Law, and represents RSU at the European Law Faculties Association.
