BDO successfully represented AS Talsu autotransports in an administrative case

BDO successfully represented AS "Talsu autotransports" in an administrative litigation concerning the legality of public transport service procurement contracts. Several competitors challenged the contracts under which the client committed to purchasing new buses and providing regional public transport services in Latvia.

The dispute reached the Supreme Court of the Republic of Latvia (Senate), which rejected the competitors’ objections and confirmed that AS "Talsu autotransports" is lawfully providing public transport services in regional route networks.

This decision is significant because the client had invested substantial resources in acquiring new buses to deliver high-quality regional transport services. An unfavorable ruling could have created uncertainty regarding both regional public transport operations and the investments made.

BDO supported the client from the initial procurement stage through the entire litigation process. The client was represented by BDO attorneys Jānis Ciguzis and Jānis Zaļais.

We are thankful to our client, AS “Talsu autotransports” for the trust and excellent cooperation throughout the process.
