Internship opportunities

This position is ideal if:

Junior-level position

This position is ideal if:

  • you have graduated from university with a law degree;
  • you are familiar with Latvian tax legislation;
  • you are willing to work on various local and international projects;
  • you are able to plan your time and always inform about changes;
  • you have strong communication and writing skills in Latvian and English;
  • you are curious and eager to develop your professional path in a workplace that provides mentor and leader support.

Responsibilities include:

  • delving into legal statutes and case precedents to provide valuable insights and recommendations, supporting senior lawyers and sworn advocates in various legal fields;
  • drafting statements using legal terminology while maintaining BDO's high communication standards;
  • participating in client meetings to document client needs and required solutions;
  • Participating in project strategy development, contributing to team discussions, helping to formulate effective legal strategies based on the research carried out;
  • maintaining records, organizing, and updating client files to ensure smooth information flow while addressing any unresolved issues.

Senior-level position

This position is ideal if:

  • you have a master’s degree in law;
  • you have at least 5 years of experience in the legal field, with proven expertise in specific legal areas relevant to the firm's primary services and clientele;
  • you are capable of independently managing complex legal matters, demonstrating high expertise in the relevant legal fields;
  • you have previous experience in team management or mentoring, with the ability to guide and delegate tasks to junior colleagues while overseeing project progress;
  • you possess strong communication and writing skills in Latvian and English;
  • Knowledge of additional languages will be considered an advantage.

Responsibilities include:

  • project management: overseeing the development and progress of projects, ensuring compliance with BDO Law standards;
  • legal research: conducting in-depth legal research and case law analysis to effectively represent clients;
  • regular consultations with clients to understand their concerns, provide legal advice and keep them informed of progress;
  • representing clients in court hearings, negotiations, or mediation sessions;
  • team management, assisting and guiding the career development of paralegals and junior associates.

  • you are on your way to obtaining the ACCA or Latvian Certified Auditor certification;
  • you have experience working with IFRS;
  • you have experience in finance and project management;

  • project management: planning, organizing, and executing various audit-related tasks. Ensuring audit project compliance with reporting standards, budgets and timelines;
  • client relationship development: building and maintaining relationships with clients from different industries. Providing professional solutions and assistance for client inquiries;
  • team development and management: supporting and promoting the professional growth of junior team members. Provide support and encouragement to team members, fostering their desire to develop professionally and improve their professional qualifications;
  • quality assurance: Lead and ensure high-quality audit projects. Prevent risks of any kind by ensuring various types of controls and inspections;
  • business development: enhancing department financial performance. Participating in team member recruitment. Improving department image;
  • department development: lead and participate in initiatives to foster growth. Contribute to the overall management and development of the audit department.
