BDO Latvia announces appointment of a new council member and two new board members, effective 10 July 2018.
Janis Zelmenis, the managing partner of AS “BDO Latvia”: “Year 2018 for BDO Network marks the beginning of #Convergence, which is about exploring and discovering change, and transforming to a digital first organisation. To achieve this we need an innovation culture that is agile and can react to the changing environment, as change will only accelerate. Convergence also asks for appointment of a future-focused management team that is capable of driving change.”
“I feel like, through convergence and transformation, we are evolving and becoming an entirely new full-scope consultancy company. Today, we have already built fantastic and extremely experienced BSO and Tax teams and we are tirelessly working to expand our Audit team to respond to the ever-increasing demand. Positive changes are also coming to Law firm BDO Law, which is about to experience two new additions from the largest law firm in Serbia and one of the oldest law firms in the U.S. All these changes – to become a digital-first organisation and the best consultancy company the region has ever seen.” adds Vita Liberte, AS “BDO Latvia” council member.
Torben Pedersen, a former BIG4 partner, joins the Council and adds to BDO Latvia his extensive experience in all aspects of audit, accounting and financial management. Torben’s main task will be to offer the same valued services – but differently: the operating models for Audit, Tax, Advisory and BSO will be more aligned.
Sandra Vilsone, Chief People Officer, is appointed to the Board of directors. Sandra has more than 15 years of experience in Human Resources working in employee relations, performance management, and workforce planning. Sandra works with the firm's leadership team to continue to build a culture focused on supporting professionals and providing an environment where employees can thrive. She focuses her efforts on the firm's strategies to attract and retain the best people. Her main responsibility will be building an innovative culture.
Rolands Zigurs, Chief Risk Officer, is appointed to the Board of directors. Rolands commenced his career with BDO in Latvia working in the Law firm, before combining his position in legal team with the Chief Risk Officer’s role in early 2017. Rolands possesses excellent analytical, leadership and communication skills that are crucial for a role responsible for the risk management operations of the company. Rolands’ top priorities in his new role will be smart collaboration, thinking laterally but logically, and using compliance as a catalyst.
