BDO Latvia accepts payments in Bitcoins, becoming a virtual currency flagman in consulting field in Latvia

28 November 2017

Starting from 1th December 2017, BDO Latvia and the BDO Law Firm will offer their clients to settle their payments in virtual currency - Bitcoins. BDO brand companies are the first companies in Latvia, for whom financial, accounting and legal services further will be possible to pay in Bitcoins.

"We hope that by implementing the Bitcoin billing system in the daily activities of BDO Latvia not only will make our services more accessible, but also will enhance customer awareness of the benefits of the virtual currencies and the potential risks.

BDO's global network is already actively advising clients on all the issues related to the legal and the tax aspects of virtual currencies, which means that the decision to accept payments not only in traditional currencies but also in Bitcoin is not a coincidence.

Although, in most of the countries of the world the regulatory framework for virtual currencies is not yet fully developed, we believe that the relatively low fees that apply for virtual currency transactions, global availability, billing rates and transaction security will ensure the popularity of virtual currencies not only at the moment when price of the Bitcoin has surpassed the historic record but also in the distant future,” says BDO partner Vita Liberte.
