BDO Latvia in cooperation with the Art Academy of Latvia and Kim? Contemporary Art Center announces the young artists' competition "BDO Young Artists Award". Young artists who have completed a master's degree in visual arts or audio-visual media or design at the Art Academy of Latvia in 2021 are welcome to apply!

Promoting the traditions of patronage of culture and art in Latvia, BDO Latvia is announcing an award for the support of young artists for the second year in a row. The first prize in 2020 was won by the artist Amanda Ziemele with a monotype from a series of works in the solo exhibition Neunauge, 2019, (Eckernford, Germany).

The aim of the BDO Young Artists Award is to help young artists achieve recognition and realization of artworks not only in Latvia but also abroad, as well as to provide support for the development of contemporary art in Latvia as a whole.

In order to participate in the competition, it is necessary to submit to the jury for evaluation the artwork (including original design) of the artist's choice, visual, visual plastic, audiovisual art, original design work or object

The applicant must have obtained a master's degree at the Latvian Academy of Arts in 2021, graduating in the field of visual arts or audiovisual media or design.

The winner of the competition will be awarded prize of 2000 euros.

In cooperation with the experimental exhibition space Pilot of the Latvian Academy of Arts, the final exhibition of works will be organized. The time and place will be announced in January 2022, in compliance with the restrictions set in the Republic of Latvia for the control of the Covid-19 virus.
